I’m Carolina Garduno. I’m an artist and interior designer who has spent most of my adult life making things beautiful.

My interiors are bold and unpredictable. I like beautiful things, but I’m not particularly interested in playing it safe. I’ll mix something serious with something weird, expensive with ordinary, old with new. I like a room with soul, some spunk and walls that hug you.

My art comes from that same place.

I make art about the things I notice. Animals I meet. People I love. Strangers. Travel. Childhood memories. Weird little moments that stick in my head for reasons I don’t always understand.

I studied classical drawing because I wanted to learn how to actually draw. The old-fashioned way. Graphite, paper, one light source and an unreasonable number of hours staring at the same thing until I could see it properly.

Painting has been different.

It’s where I’m learning to care a little less about getting it right.

Some pieces are carefully rendered. Some are loose and imperfect. Some are funny. Some are personal. And occasionally I paint something I don’t fully understand—it just lands. I’m learning to trust that feeling.

If what I create gives me a full-body yes, followed almost immediately by the urge to lock it away and hoard it forever, I know it’s exactly what I need to put out into the world.

So that’s what you’ll find here: pieces of my travels, my adventures, my family, and my life. The things that made me stop, look twice, laugh, remember, or feel something.

I think we’re all creators in one way or another. Maybe it really is as simple as paying attention—and being brave enough to show the world what you noticed.
